There are some wonderful rock climbing routes in the Buttermere area, with options to visit high mountain crags when the weather allows, and other more easily accessible climbs where appropriate or preferred.

This climbing activity has been created for people who have some climbing experience, good physical fitness and a head for heights. We will discuss options with you beforehand so that you can choose what is most suitable for your preferences and the forecast conditions. If we choose to visit the higher crags it will involve a full mountain day as the approach can often take at least 1 hour 30 mins. Alternatively, there are valley crags nearby that provide some of the finest rock climbs in the UK. Let us know if you have a particular crag or route in mind.
