Grasmoor is the highest mountain in the Buttermere valley. This journey gets to the summit by a steep scramble up Lorton Gully, which requires use of a rope at a couple of points. Beyond the summit, a short climb leads to the top of Wandope with wonderfully contrasting views, and then the delightful ridge leading on to the summit of Whiteless Pike, from where you descend into Buttermere village.
