Description
Mellbreak is one of the select group of Lake District mountains that has no connection with other summits. This walk is accessed by a short canoe journey to the charming Ling Crag peninsula, from where you will either walk round to climb the mountain’s steep northern face and traverse both summits, or more easily continue round to the west side and take a path that reaches the slightly higher southern summit. From here you will descend the southern side of the mountain with superb views of the valley. The route then continues back round to the peninsula for the return boat journey.
